Nyla May Bradshaw Tragedy, Mum Sought Childminder Days Before 7-Year-Old Was Found Dead in Golf Course Pond.

A heartbreaking tragedy has shaken a community after seven-year-old Nyla May Bradshaw was found dead in a pond at Owston Hall golf course, just hours after being reported missing. The devastating loss has been made even more painful by revelations that her mother had been searching for a childminder only days before the incident.

Nyla, who was autistic, was reported missing from the village of Skellow at approximately 9:50 a.m. on Monday. Within hours, the unimaginable unfolded when she was discovered in the water at the nearby golf course. Despite efforts to save her, the young girl could not be revived.

According to close family friends, Nyla’s mother, Hailey, had recently turned to a local Facebook group in search of a trusted childminder during the school holidays. She was reportedly recommended someone who claimed to specialize in caring for children with autism. Tragically, within just two hours of that arrangement, Hailey received a message that her daughter had gone missing.

Family friend Charlotte Emma shared the deep sense of guilt felt by those close to Hailey, explaining that she rarely left Nyla in anyone else’s care and had been doing her best to find suitable support.

Nyla’s father, Kieran Bradshaw, paid an emotional tribute, describing his daughter as his “best friend” and “amazing daughter.” He recalled her joyful spirit, love for music, and the special routines they shared.

As tributes continue to pour in, Nyla is remembered as a bright, loving child whose presence touched everyone she met.
