Deadly Shooting in Southeast D.C., Police Investigate Killing of 31-Year-Old Terrance Lavelle Crutchfield in Marshall Heights.
Homicide detectives in Washington, D.C. are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 31-year-old man Monday evening in the city’s Southeast quadrant. Authorities say the violence unfolded shortly before 6:30 p.m. on March 9 in the 5000 block of E Street SE, a residential area in the Marshall Heights community.
According to police, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the neighborhood and quickly arrived at the scene. Once there, they discovered a man lying unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel rushed to provide life-saving measures, but despite their efforts, the victim could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators later identified the victim as in Terrance Lavelle Crutchfield, a resident of Northeast Washington. Authorities have not yet released details about a possible suspect or motive, and it remains unclear what led to the deadly encounter. Detectives are currently canvassing the area for witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage that could help piece together the events leading up to the shooting.
