Fatal Luzerne County Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of Former Wilkes University Football Player: Niko Cinquegrani Identified.

WEST WYOMING, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man involved in a fatal motorcycle crash earlier this week in Luzerne County has been identified by authorities as 26-year-old Niko Cinquegrani of Pittston.

According to officials, the deadly collision occurred on Wednesday night along West Eighth Street in West Wyoming. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene after reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle. Upon arrival, first responders found Cinquegrani seriously injured as a result of the collision.

Authorities said Cinquegrani was operating the motorcycle when it collided with a car. He was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he later succumbed to his injuries.

The crash prompted a significant emergency response and led police to temporarily close a section of West Eighth Street while investigators examined the scene. Officers remained in the area for several hours collecting evidence, documenting the crash site, and working to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.

Officials have not yet released additional details regarding the driver of the vehicle involved or whether any charges are expected as the investigation remains ongoing.

Cinquegrani’s death has deeply affected the local community. The Pittston resident was a graduate of Pittston Area High School and was known for his athletic accomplishments. He later attended Wilkes University, where he played football and was recognized by teammates and coaches for his dedication both on and off the field.

Friends, former classmates, and community members have begun sharing tributes and condolences in remembrance of the young man whose life was cut tragically short.
