EAST ST. LOUIS, IL — Authorities have charged 23-year-old Brion D. Bess of Swansea with First Degree Murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Ni’Kajha Johnson, a 24-year-old mother from St. Louis, Missouri. The heartbreaking incident has left Johnson’s family, friends, and community mourning the loss of a young life while seeking answers and justice.

According to Illinois State Police, the shooting occurred on June 3 near the intersection of 25th Street and Ridge Avenue in East St. Louis.
