Crime Insider: Zion Terry Killed, Levy Nelson Arrested in Richmond Domestic Shooting.

Richmond authorities have identified 18-year-old Zion Terry as the victim killed in a domestic-related shooting, while 41-year-old Levy Nelson has been apprehended as the suspect in the case. The incident unfolded in the 3100 block of 5th Avenue on Tuesday morning, leaving one person dead and two others injured in what police describe as a violent domestic situation.

Officers responded around 9:50 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting inside a residence. When they arrived, they found three individuals suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Terry was discovered unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene. A 38-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities say the adult woman’s injuries are no longer considered life-threatening, while the juvenile victim remains in critical condition.

Following the shooting, Nelson fled the scene, triggering a coordinated search effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies. Investigators utilized automatic license plate readers and tips from the public to track his movements. Henrico County Police eventually located Nelson in his vehicle and attempted to stop him, but he struck several vehicles, including police units, before being taken into custody. One officer was injured during the arrest.

Nelson now faces charges of malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, with additional charges pending as the investigation continues.
