Richfield Springs Tragedy, Ashley Faubert, 29, Dies After One-Vehicle Crash on County Highway 22.
RICHFIELD SPRINGS, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) — A tragic and heartbreaking crash is under investigation after Ashley Faubert, 29, of Ilion, lost her life in a one-vehicle accident on County Highway 22 late Friday night, leaving family, friends, and the local community in mourning.
According to New York State Police in Richfield Springs, the crash occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on April 10, just south of Butternut Road in the Town of Richfield. Preliminary reports indicate that Faubert was traveling southbound on County Highway 22 when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
Authorities confirmed that Faubert was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash. In a desperate effort to save her life, a nearby resident—who is also a trained EMT—quickly responded and initiated CPR before emergency services arrived. Once Otsego County EMS reached the scene, lifesaving efforts continued as responders worked tirelessly to stabilize her condition.
Faubert was transported to Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown for further treatment. Despite the efforts of both the bystander and emergency crews, she was later pronounced deceased, marking a devastating outcome to the incident.
The sudden loss of Ashley Faubert has deeply impacted those who knew her, as the community comes to terms with the tragedy of a life taken far too soon. Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding what may have caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
New York State Police have confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing as they work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
