A homicide investigation is underway in Winnipeg following a tragic incident that claimed the life of 21-year-old Trencent Francois and resulted in the arrest of 20-year-old Precious Rayne Walker, who has been charged with manslaughter. The incident occurred during the early morning hours of June 13, 2026, at a residence in the 700 block of Toronto Street. Francois, a member of the Nelson House First Nation who had been residing in Winnipeg, was found suffering from life-threatening injuries and later died in hospital despite emergency medical efforts.

When Central and North District General Patrol officers arrived, they located Francois in critical condition. Paramedics transported him to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
