Deadly Property Dispute, Pasco Sheriff’s Office Investigates Deputy-Involved Shooting That Left One Man Dead and Three Injured.
Authorities with the Pasco Sheriff’s Office are investigating a deputy-involved shooting that unfolded in a residential area near Davista Avenue and Sawtell Street, leaving one man dead and three others injured, including a responding deputy.
According to investigators, deputies were dispatched to the scene after receiving multiple reports of gunfire in the neighborhood. Before law enforcement arrived, officials say 32-year-old Aaron Rodriguez had already opened fire during a dispute believed to be related to property use.
Authorities say Rodriguez allegedly shot an adult man during the confrontation. When deputies arrived at the scene, the victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead shortly afterward. His identity has not yet been publicly released as officials work to notify family members.
An adult woman who contacted authorities reported that she had also been shot by Rodriguez during the incident. She sustained injuries and was transported for medical treatment. During the chaotic situation, a responding deputy was also injured, though officials have not yet released details about how the deputy was hurt or the extent of those injuries.
Investigators say two additional individuals were hurt in the confrontation, bringing the total number of injured to three in addition to the deceased victim.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation, but preliminary information suggests the violence stemmed from an ongoing disagreement involving property access or usage.
Detectives with the Pasco Sheriff’s Office are continuing to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and review the sequence of events as they work to determine exactly what occurred during the deadly encounter. Community members have been urged to come forward with any information that could assist investigators. 🚔🕊️
