Fatal Rollover Crash in Hartwell, Candice Allison Mize Identified as Victim After Late-Night Accident on Reed Creek Highway.
HARTWELL, GA — A late-night crash in Hart County has claimed the life of a local woman after a vehicle rolled multiple times along Reed Creek Highway, authorities confirmed. Deputies with the Hart County Sheriff’s Officeresponded to the incident on March 10, 2026, at approximately 11:28 p.m. after receiving an alert from a mobile phone reporting a possible vehicle crash near the 4800 block of Reed Creek Highway in Hartwell, Georgia.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they discovered a single vehicle that had rolled several times. Officials determined that the driver had been ejected during the violent crash. Emergency crews from Hart County EMS and Hart County Fire Department immediately began life-saving measures in an effort to revive the victim. Despite their efforts, the individual was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities later identified the victim as Candice Allison Mize, a 45-year-old resident of Hartwell. Her sudden passing has left family members, friends, and the local community mourning the heartbreaking loss.
Investigators from the Georgia State Patrol were called to assist with the crash investigation, helping determine the exact circumstances that led to the rollover. The Hart County Coroner’s Office also responded to the scene to assist with the ongoing investigation and confirm the victim’s identity.
Officials say the investigation remains active as authorities work to piece together what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and overturn. Additional details have not yet been released.
