The Beaumont community is mourning the tragic loss of 24-year-old Cyanasia Dowl, who was identified by police as the victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred early Tuesday morning. Authorities confirmed that Dowl was the driver and sole occupant of the SUV involved in the collision. Despite being rushed to a hospital following the crash, she later succumbed to her injuries.
According to Beaumont police, the crash was reported shortly after 4:30 a.m. in the 5400 block of Ohio Street near Kingsley Drive, just east of U.S. 69/96/287 and a few miles southeast of Lamar University. Emergency responders arrived quickly and found the young woman suffering from critical injuries. Life-saving efforts were initiated at the scene before she was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Investigators say preliminary findings indicate that Dowl was traveling northbound in the 1800 block of Cardinal Drive when, for reasons that remain unknown, her SUV left the roadway and crashed into a light pole. The force of the collision caused significant damage to the vehicle and resulted in severe injuries.
