Ashley N. Jacobs Found Dead in Pembroke, Loved Ones Mourn as Investigation Continues.
PEMBROKE, NC — The Robeson County community is mourning the loss of 35-year-old Ashley N. Jacobs, who was found dead inside a camper on Melinda Road early Sunday morning. Deputies with the Robeson County Sheriff’s Officeresponded at approximately 6:39 a.m. on March 22, 2026, after a report of two deceased individuals inside the camper. Upon arrival, officers discovered Jacobs alongside two other victims, confirming a triple fatality.
Jacobs, a Pembroke resident, was remembered by family and friends as a caring and vibrant individual whose presence brightened the lives of those around her. Her unexpected death has left loved ones grappling with grief and searching for answers as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
All three victims, including Jacobs, are being transported to the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death. Sheriff Burnis Wilkins has reassured the public that this incident is not related to the recent death of Jame P. Lowery, 51, of Pembroke, whose preliminary findings indicate no homicide.
The investigation remains active, with support from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the case to contact the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
