CRETE TOWNSHIP, Ill. (WGN) — A heartbreaking scene unfolded early Monday morning when deputies conducting a welfare check discovered three family members dead inside a home in Crete Township. The Will County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence in the 3400 block of Norway Trail around 2 a.m., where they made the grim discovery.

Authorities identified the victims as 32-year-old Jacob Lambert, 54-year-old Stacy Forde, and 55-year-old Patrick Forde. According to the coroner’s office, all three died as a result of a homicide. Investigators later confirmed that Stacy and Patrick Forde were husband and wife, while Jacob Lambert was Stacy’s son, deepening the tragedy for both family and community members.

Law enforcement officials have since taken a person of interest into custody. The individual, identified as a 30-year-old woman from Indiana, allegedly fled the scene before being located across state lines. Charges are currently pending as investigators continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Officials believe the case to be domestic in nature and have reassured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community. Even so, the shocking loss of three lives within a single household has left neighbors and loved ones struggling to comprehend the violence.
