Fatal Hit-and-Run in Memphis, Two Males Sought After East Shelby Drive Collision.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police Department (MPD) officers are searching for two males in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on March 8, 2026. The incident took place at approximately 9:11 p.m. at the intersection of East Shelby Drive and Hodge Road, leaving one person dead.
According to MPD, a green 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling westbound on East Shelby Drive struck a white Toyota that was traveling eastbound. Following the collision, the Tahoe fled the scene but was later located unoccupied. Tragically, the driver of the Toyota was pronounced deceased at the scene. Emergency responders confirmed the fatality upon arrival.
Authorities released descriptions of the occupants of the Tahoe. The driver is described as a dark-complexioned, slim Black male, approximately 25–30 years old, about 5’8″, wearing a black do-rag, a white t-shirt, and red pants. The passenger is a Black male wearing a black jacket, white shirt, and khaki pants. Officers also obtained a photograph of the two individuals to aid in their search.
MPD urges anyone with information about the suspects or the crash to contact Crimestoppers at 901-528-CASH. The department emphasized that this investigation remains active and that tips could be crucial in bringing those responsible to justice.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of hit-and-run collisions and the importance of community involvement in ensuring public safety. Authorities continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward as the investigation progresses.
