MONTGOMERY, Ill. — Authorities have identified Javier Diaz, a 40-year-old Chicago resident, as the pedestrian who died following a tragic early morning crash on April 16 along Douglas Road. The Montgomery Police Department and Kane County Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity in a joint statement, as the investigation into the incident continues.

According to officials, Diaz was struck at approximately 1:23 a.m. near the intersection of Douglas Road and Seasons Ridge Boulevard. When officers arrived at the scene, they found him lying in the roadway and immediately began life-saving efforts. He was later transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
