Series of Hit-and-Run Crashes, Lake Wales Man Arrested After Allegedly Driving Under the Influence.

Authorities in Winter Haven, Florida say a Lake Wales man is facing multiple charges after allegedly causing two hit-and-run crashes while driving under the influence before attempting to hide his damaged vehicle in a nearby elementary school parking lot.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, 43-year-old Juan Medina was arrested Tuesday evening following a chain of incidents that left several people injured. Investigators say the events began around 7:10 p.m. when Medina, driving a tan Toyota Camry, rear-ended a silver Hyundai sedan at the intersection of U.S. Highway 27 and Cypress Gardens Boulevard. The crash caused significant damage to the Hyundai. Although the driver of that vehicle reported minor injuries, Medina allegedly fled the scene before emergency assistance could arrive.

Deputies say the situation escalated only minutes later. About five minutes after the first crash, the same Camry reportedly struck a white Chevrolet sedan near Mahaffey Road. That collision injured the driver and two passengers inside the vehicle. Once again, investigators say Medina drove away without stopping to help the victims.

Witnesses quickly alerted authorities, with one person reporting that the driver appeared to have visible facial injuries from the crashes. Another witness directed deputies toward Garden Grove Elementary School, where the suspect vehicle had reportedly been parked.

When deputies arrived, they found Medina sitting in the driver’s seat of the Camry with the engine still running. Investigators also discovered a nearly empty bottle of bourbon next to the vehicle. Medina was taken into custody as authorities continue their investigation into the crashes and resulting injuries.

Tragic Highway Incident, Wrecker Technician Killed After Being Struck by Semi-Truck on I-165.

A towing and wrecker service technician lost his life early Wednesday morning after being struck by a semi-truck while assisting a disabled vehicle along Interstate 165 in southern Daviess County, Kentucky. The fatal crash occurred around 6:50 a.m. in the southbound lanes near the Daviess-Ohio County line, according to officials with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency responders were dispatched after Owensboro-Daviess County Central Dispatch received reports of an injury crash in the 6020 block of the highway. Deputies, along with firefighters from the Daviess County Fire Department and Masonville Fire Department, as well as paramedics from AMR Ambulance Service, arrived at the scene and discovered the technician had suffered fatal injuries.

Investigators say the technician had exited his tow truck to assist the driver of a disabled semi parked on the shoulder of the interstate when a passing southbound semi-truck struck him. Authorities reported that the truck also sideswiped the wrecker and the disabled semi, causing moderate damage to both vehicles.

The driver of the semi that struck the technician initially left the scene, prompting authorities to issue a lookout for the vehicle. Deputies with the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office later located the truck parked along a roadway in Ohio County. Officers from the Hartford Police Department assisted in detaining the driver, identified as 31-year-old Suk Subba of Antioch, Tennessee.

Subba now faces several charges, including second-degree manslaughter, wanton endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident involving death or serious injury, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. Authorities say the crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office accident reconstruction unit.

Authorities in Pearland, Texas have issued an urgent AMBER Alert for a missing 7-year-old child, prompting a large-scale search effort across the community. The alert, issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety, is asking the public to remain vigilant as law enforcement works to locate Skylar Hopson.

According to officials, Skylar was last seen at approximately 9:30 a.m. on March 11, 2026, in the 2000 block of Sunset Springs Drive on the far west side of the Shadow Creek Ranch neighborhood. Authorities say Skylar is nonverbal, which has heightened concerns about her safety and ability to communicate with others if she becomes lost or frightened.

At the time she was last seen, Skylar was reportedly wearing a tie-dye dress. Investigators have not yet released additional details about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance but say search efforts are being conducted intensively in the surrounding area.

The Pearland Police Department is leading the search operation with support from several specialized resources. Officers have deployed K9 units and drones to scan the neighborhood and nearby areas. In addition, aerial support from the Houston Police Department helicopter is assisting in the effort to locate the missing child as quickly as possible.

Authorities are urging residents in Pearland and nearby communities to check their yards, vehicles, security cameras, and any areas where a child might seek shelter. Justice for Justin Elmore,  Stepmother Sentenced to Decades in Prison After Death of 6-Year-Old Boy.

A court in Elkhart County, Indiana has sentenced a stepmother to decades behind bars for her role in the death of 6-year-old Justin Elmore, bringing a measure of justice to a case that shocked the local community. The sentencing marks the latest development in a heartbreaking investigation that began in August 2025.

According to investigators, officers in Goshen, Indiana responded shortly before 9 p.m. on August 11, 2025, to a report of an unresponsive child inside a residence. First responders found Justin suffering from severe injuries and rushed him to Elkhart General Hospital, where he later died.

Authorities determined that Justin had endured repeated abuse inside the home he shared with his father and stepmother. Investigators said security video captured Justin’s father, Franklin Elmore Jr., physically attacking the child shortly before the emergency call. At first, the father told officers the boy had injured himself, but evidence, including video and photographs, revealed extensive bruising and other injuries inconsistent with that claim.

An autopsy later found that Justin suffered multiple traumatic injuries, including a brain bleed, a punctured lung, and numerous bruises. During the investigation, Franklin Elmore Jr. admitted to physically disciplining the child.

Prosecutors also determined that Justin’s stepmother, Cheyenne Elmore, was aware of the ongoing abuse and allowed it to continue. Evidence presented in court showed she also mistreated the child, including forcing him to stay outside and denying him basic care.

Franklin Elmore Jr. was previously sentenced to 65 years in prison in November 2025. On March 11, 2026, a judge sentenced 27-year-old Cheyenne Elmore to 65 years in prison, including 55 years for murder and additional time for aggravated circumstances.

Justin’s biological mother, Miranda McBride, said the sentence cannot bring her son back but expressed relief that justice had been served.

Authorities in Gray Court, South Carolina are investigating a tragic shooting that claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy early Saturday morning. According to the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 5:30 a.m. on March 7, 2026, to reports of a gunshot victim on Tanglewood Way.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered a victim lying in the roadway. Despite emergency response efforts, the teenager succumbed to his injuries. The Laurens County Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as 15-year-old Leo Scott Epting.

Due to the seriousness of the case, multiple agencies were called in to assist with the investigation. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division Child Fatality Task Force joined investigators from the sheriff’s office to help gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident. Law enforcement officials have arrested 18-year-old Ryan Ingersoll of Charlotte, North Carolina in connection with the killing. He faces several charges, including murder, armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Officials also confirmed that a juvenile suspect has been detained in North Carolina and is currently awaiting extradition to South Carolina.

Mysterious Camper Fire in Toledo, Woman Found Dead with Gunshot Wound as Investigators Search for Answers.

Authorities in Toledo, Ohio, are investigating a troubling case after a woman’s body was discovered inside a burned camper earlier this week. Officials have identified the victim as 53-year-oldC according to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office, as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.

Emergency crews with the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department responded at approximately 9:20 a.m. Tuesday to reports of a camper on fire behind a residence in the 3400 block of 145th Street in the Point Place neighborhood. When firefighters arrived, they found the trailer heavily engulfed in flames, with much of the interior already consumed by the blaze.

After crews successfully extinguished the fire, firefighters entered the camper and made the grim discovery of a woman’s body inside. The victim was later identified as Jennifer Denman. On Wednesday, the coroner’s office confirmed that Denman had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. However, officials say the official cause and manner of death have not yet been determined as the investigation continues.

Investigators from the Toledo Police Department, including members of a special investigations unit, responded to the scene along with a coroner’s investigator to begin examining the evidence. Authorities spent hours processing the area and gathering information that may help clarify what happened before the fire broke out.
