Authorities in Davidson County, North Carolina have launched a homicide investigation following the discovery of a 44-year-old man found dead inside a Lexington home on Friday morning. According to a news release from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, the victim has been identified as Michael Allen, the homeowner, whose death is now at the center of an active and ongoing investigation.
The sequence of events began around 7:20 a.m., when patrol deputies and detectives responded to a call on Whispering Oak Drive regarding an injured woman. Upon arrival, they located the woman suffering from multiple injuries. Emergency responders transported her to a nearby hospital, where officials confirmed her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
As part of their initial response, deputies conducted a welfare check at a residence on Bryant Road in Lexington, believed to be connected to the situation. It was there that investigators discovered Michael Allen deceased inside the home.
