CHICAGO — A heartbreaking incident on the city’s Near West Side has left a family in deep grief as Shawna Juicedup mourns the loss of her 3-month-old daughter, Mynna Anderson, who was found unresponsive Friday morning. The Chicago Police Department confirmed that officers were called to the 300 block of South Campbell Avenue shortly before 9 a.m. in response to a reported death.
When first responders arrived, they discovered the infant inside a home and immediately transported her to Stroger Hospital in an effort to save her life. Despite those efforts, Mynna was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has since officially identified the child.
Authorities have not yet released details regarding the cause of death. Detectives assigned to the case are continuing their investigation while awaiting the results of an autopsy, which is expected to provide more clarity in the coming days.
