Tuscaloosa County Tragedy: George and Tayia Killed After Vehicle Plunges Into Ravine.

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. — Family members, friends, and the Tuscaloosa County community are mourning the tragic loss of George, 19, and Tayia, 22, who were killed in a devastating single-vehicle crash early Monday morning. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the young man and woman lost their lives after the vehicle they were traveling in left the roadway and crashed into a wooded ravine off Crescent Ridge Road.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. near Crescent Ridge Road and 9th Street Northeast. Authorities reported that the vehicle veered off the road for reasons that remain under investigation before plunging into the woods and down a steep embankment. The crash resulted in fatal injuries to both George and Tayia.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and faced difficult recovery conditions due to the vehicle’s location deep within a wooded area. Recovery crews worked for several hours to access the wreckage, prompting the temporary closure of the roadway. The road has since reopened to traffic.
